As I write this article, Hong Kong’s M+ museum is scheduled to open in one day. M+ is Asia’s first museum of contemporary art, built to rival the Tate Modern and Metropolitan Museum of Art. On Friday November 12th, the museum will open, displaying 1,500 works from its collections of 6,413 to the public for the first time.

As museum professionals, we spend a lot of time thinking about how we protect and display our artifacts, but what about examining the display cases themselves? Goppion is a Milan-based glass company that advertises itself as being at the forefront of designing specialized, protective cases for displaying museum artifacts.

I’m sure many of you are as tired of hearing about COVID-19 as I am, but while the virus continues to spread, there continues to be news about the topic. As Ontario begins to reduce COVID-19 restrictions, the question many museum professionals must now face is how to safely reopen.

Hello all! I hope your summers and internships are going well. It’s been fun seeing people’s work in MUSSA's Intern of the Week posts. My internship position is at the Ontario Jewish Archives (OJA), where I’ve spent the past two months working on an exhibit celebrating the one hundredth anniversary of JIAS (Jewish Immigrant Aid Services).

As a summer intern at the Ontario Jewish Archives (OJA) my assignment for the last few months was to curate an exhibit celebrating 100 years of Jewish Immigrant Aid Services (JIAS) to accompany Pier 21’s Refuge Tent Canada exhibition, which JIAS Toronto will be hosting this fall as part of their anniversary celebration.

An interview I had with Kultura Collective, a Jewish arts and culture group. I discussed my education, Jewish influences, and the Love the Stranger exhibition.

The AGO's I AM HERE: Home Movies and Everyday Masterpieces was an exhibition that certainly succeeded in making me think. I left pondering many questions: What does it mean to exist? What is it to be seen and remembered? More importantly, what is privacy?
